Now that these doors have the desired color approved by the designer and homeowner. It’s time to start adding the layers of protection to ensure these doors look as amazing as they are resilient! In order to do that we must ensure the surface is ready for another coat of clear to adhere to. Here you see Chris sanding these doors down with a 400 grit sand paper that has even been burned down a bit(when one rubs the sand paper against itself to make it less abrasive) to ensure an amazingly smooth clear finish.

Did you know that some stain and wood treating products aren’t all food safe?
If the surface is going to be repeatedly used for cutting, scraping, or scrubbing and in contact with any water, detergents, acids, & oils. This can damage the finish and may expose the chemicals underneath the cured surfaces. Potentially putting you and your loved ones at risk of the harmful toxins and chemicals that can leach onto your food if in contact with it.
Since this product just looks so beautiful & works so well. We recommend it to our clients even on surfaces not necessarily needing the food grade finish. However, it is a nice peace of mind when the products used contain no harmful toxin or chemicals.

Our client chose the beloved OC-65 Chantilly Lace by @benjaminmoore for this entire space, a crisp, clean white that always delivers. For the sheen selection, our client paired semi-gloss on the trims, eggshell on the walls, and ultraflat on the ceilings.

The color we are testing out today is Ultra Pure White by @behrpaint, matched by @benjaminmoore in the product Eco Spec. The color is a true white without any funky undertones, perfect for that clean-slate foundation to build your palette on.
As for the product, we’re using Benjamin Moore’s Eco Spec for this homeowner. It’s Green Seal certified and one of the greenest paints in the world. With zero VOC and zero emissions, you get a beautiful finish without the harmful fumes.

Custom Build + Custom Finish = Perfection
For this custom built home, our client thoughtfully requested a color to exactly match her roof tiles. To fulfill our client’s color scheme, Nico found the perfect combination of stains. After a few tests done at our shop in Palo Alto, the end result turned out better than Nico had imagined; the homeowner was more than pleased. The completed look shows the beautiful wood grains, looks sophisticated and dark, all while matching the roof tiles as requested. What could get better than this?

A stairway designed to be admired, not to be overlooked.
Today we are featuring a contemporary home we worked on recently in collaboration with @harrelldesignbuild. In this stairway space, everything is painted using Chantilly Lace OC-65 by @benjaminmoore, creating a bright and airy entry space. To accompany this sophisticated yet minimalist stairway design, a semi-gloss finish was used to really make this white pop with every step you take.
